Own an Audi A4 S Line 2.0 TDI, the higher range of the model. On 85000 miles, 6 years old, full service history, the engine broke down only to find that there was a manufacturing fault on the injection line. After much conversations and debate, Audi replaced the injection line.

Not even 2 months later, the car breaks down, and the nearest Audi specialist advised a cracked piston, surprisingly in the same cylinder that had a faulty injector.

Audi UK customer services will hear nothing about it, their advise is that the car is out of warranty, that they are happy for me to get the car to one of their garage, pay whatever costs to get it investigated, then fixed.

There is no support, no help moving the car around, and no admission of an even remote responsibility.

Cracked piston after 85000 miles? Seriously, on an over £40000 car... this repair will set me back over £1700, and I have no longer any trust in my vehicle, or its manufacturer.

There is no way I will ever buy an Audi.
